Harrison County Sand Beach Renourishment

In 1999, the Harrison County Board of Supervisors selected Brown & Mitchell, Inc. (BMI) to provide professional engineering, surveying, and environmental services for the renourishment of the Harrison County beaches, extending from East Biloxi (Point Cadet) to just west of the Pass Christian Harbor.
This project consisted of the replenishment of approximately 24.5 miles of beach by hydraulically pumping ±1.1 million cubic yards of sand fill onto segments of the beach from remote borrow areas and improvements to related storm drain system structures. Coordination with various local, state, and federal agencies was conducted to obtain the necessary permits to ensure compliance with all regulations. Project costs totaled approximately $6 million.
BMI also provided professional services for the last beach renourishment project in 1987.
